As the sun rises and the early birds sing their songs, some of us awake to great news, others to the same old routine and others to sorrow and sadness. Each day brings new opportunities, new lessons to be learnt and new experiences. While some experiences are indispensable to our progression as individuals, others utterly shake the foundations of our lives and throws us off balance. 2016 has brought much blessings to many families, but it has also been a year with tragic news of worldly celebrity deaths. One has been the death of Mohammed Ali; a great boxer and an inspiration to many young people. Although as Christians we may not adhere to the faith or practices of some of these celebrities, we can however appreciate the positive impact they may have had on our lives and society around us. Ultimately, while individual views may vary in their perception of a life well lived, as Christians, we know that such life is one lived for the Lord and in serving others. We are all heroes in our own right, some in their own households, others in their work places (schools, offices etc) and some for their nation and the world. Wherever you find yourself today, make this life one that is well lived for others and to the Lord.
“For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s” (Romans 14:8)
