Hebrews 6:19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Last Sunday we went for a walk by the River Thames. It was still squelchy after the recent floods. You see some strange sights and one is to see boats that are normally in the river now on the banks. It looks like some big giant has been a long and thrown toys out of the bath! Sometimes in life we can feel like we are the toys that are being thrown around. When I looked more closely at the “Freeman” boat in the picture you could see that the owner had been down and put some securing ropes in so that the boat wouldn’t go astray. In the passage from Hebrews it reminds us that we have an anchor. We have a strong and certain hope that in the saving work of Jesus Christ we can draw right to the inner sanctuary of the Living God and the storms of life will not separate us from His love.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you that through Jesus we have an anchor that holds us to you. When the storms of life sometimes rage around us help us to remember that You are in control and when we are enjoying pleasant tranquil waters help us to remember that you are the mighty One who has blessed us. Amen. God bless and much love from David
