A future and a hope:

Jeremiah 29 verse 11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

On Sunday we had a precious time praying for the persecuted church and thinking of our brothers & sisters in Christ around the world in the top 10 countries where Christian faith costs the most. We can also report that £120 was raised for Open Doors. The youth group on Friday also went really well and it has been a wonderful blessing to have 14 youngsters along who are keen to have fun and to learn about Jesus.

We were saying some “au revoirs” at Didcot on Sunday. Alan & Laura are off to Glasgow and James & Cecilee are off to Los Angeles. It has been great to have them with us and will miss them hugely but we also know that God has a plan and a purpose for all our lives and we rejoice in it!

As both couples go off with our prayers and blessings onto the next stage of their lives we remember the promises that God has made to us all as the Prophet Jeremiah shared “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

We also look forward to them popping into visit us when they are back in England and hope, as with other friends around the world who have worshipped with us,that they know that there will always be a warm welcome and a hug when they visit again. It’s just “au revoir” or… “Until we meet again”!

Let’s pray:
Dear heavenly father, we pray for the Christians in the persecuted church and for break throughs in countries such as North Korea and Saudi Arabia . Thank you for the special priviledge of having Alan & Laura and James & Cecilee worshipping with us. We pray that God will bless both couples on this next stage of their lives together and that they will know the full blessing of Almighty God in all that they do as they follow Him. AMEN

God bless and much love from
Pastor David

PS This weekend we say a special “hello” to Tiffany (daughter of Clement and Abigail Okyere) who is being dedicated this Sunday at church. After the service the Okyere family invite folks to stay and share some fresh pizza.
