Covenant people:
On the way back from a visit to the garden centre last Saturday we came over the brow of the hill from Chilton to see a beautiful rainbow arched over Didcot and could even see where it both started and finished. It was a magical moment and reminded me of the Covenant that God has made with us in verses Genesis 9 verses 12 to 15:
God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

blogpic-rainbowWho are you and I in our insignificance that our great God should make a covenant, a promise with you and I? This is truly amazing grace where God also goes the extra mile to leave a sign such as the rainbow to gladden our hearts and encourage us.

In Ephesians 2:8–9 it goes further and tells us that when we put our faith in Jesus Christ there is a new covenant, a new work of grace whereby we will be saved!
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

When you next see a rainbow praise God and thank Him for the gift of Jesus!
God bless and love from
